Steven Falvey is a 25 year old singer/songwriter from Cork in Ireland. Having been passionate about music his entire life, he has now established a career for himself as a full-time professional musician. Steven’s performance mainly consists of acoustic guitar and vocals. He has taken inspiration from many different artists, including The Beatles, Oasis, Paulo Nutini, Paul Simon, Ed Sheeran, Fleetwood Mac, The Coronas, Lizzy McAlpine and Christy Moore. In Steven’s performance, he uses some of the stylistic features associated with these particular artists, blended in with his own distinctive style which creates a unique and entertaining showcase.
Steven has a wealth of experience when it comes to gigging and performing live. At the age of 10 he started singing at weekly mass ceremonies. Fascinated by the likes of John Mayer and Ed Sheeran, he then began learning to play the guitar. As time went on he gained experience working with various different groups, and even performed for Irish President Michael D. Higgins in 2015. He then went on to become the lead singer of a popular wedding band.
In 2019, Steven went back to college to study Music. He is now working towards a Bachelor’s degree in MTU Cork School of Music. Furthering his musical knowledge is something he believes is very important. With his learned knowledge of music theory, vocal technique, and performance etiquette, he is able to deliver his performance in the best way possible which enables him to hold the standard as high as possible for his audience.
When Covid-19 began to subside, Steven saw an opportunity to pursue his passion and become a solo musician. He has rapidly grown exponentially to become a very familiar name in the music scene. He regularly does showcases in the biggest bars in Cork, including Clancy’s, Dwyer’s, Conway’s Yard, The Castle, Tradehouse Central, J.J. Coppingers, The Arches, Costigan’s, Paddy The Farmer’s and Mabel Lane to name just a few. Be sure to make your way to one of his public showcases, you’re guaranteed to have a great time! Another area that Steven specialises in is private functions. Whether it be a wedding ceremony, a drinks reception, a day-two wedding celebration, an open day, or a birthday party, Steven can deliver an unparalleled performance to brighten up your occasion. Writing original music is something that Steven holds great value in. He is always working on melody writing and lyrics which he finds incredibly inspiring and therapeutic. He also has a solid knowledge of production and has his own recording studio in his house. With that being said, Steven has not released any of his original works yet.
